Refugee Assimilation Project (RAP)

Ephraim Bendatunguka is heading up Refugee Assimilation Project (RAP) ministry which is targeting the Refugee communities in San Diego.

We are currently distributing over 7,000 pounds of food each week to close to 500 families in our community. Many of these are Refugee families who are struggling to keep their family's needs met.

English as Second Language

Through our food ministry we have found that the greatest needs in the Refugee community are English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and Work Training/Experience.  Because of this need, we have begun an ESL class, supplemented with Computers and the Rosetta Stone Language Software.

Thrift Store

We have also opened a Thrift Store to help provide work experience and job skills to our Refugee Friends. We of course will gladly accept donations of clothing, furniture and household items for our thrift store! Please bring them by the church any morning, or if the donation is too large for you to haul give us a call at: 619-267-8990 to arrange for a pickup.

Thongsuay Sakdarak is leading out in our Asian Ministries! - We are especially reaching out to the Laotian, Nepalese & Bhutanese Communities in San Diego.

There are now links to 35 Lao sermons and 2 Lao songs on the NAD's new Refugee Ministries web site: www.refugeeministries.org

Community Garden

The newest area of ministry is our New Community Garden for our Refugee families.
